Just after delivery

Sat. July 28th, I delivered Ashley Marie at 6lbs 110zs, 21 inches.
I started having contractions at 8:30am and finally called the hospital at 11:30- told her I'd been having cont. every 5 min. for 1 hour. She said, wait until they are about 60 seconds long lasting 2 hours.. they just never got that long. I called back at 3:00 and said- ok, I need to come in! ..aka- need Epidural NOW. I had a cont. in the car -mind you the hospital is 3 blocks from our house, one while Kirk parked the car, one while in the wheel chair- then I got "checked in" and changed into my gown and got into bed. It's now 3:50. I had a contraction...then one more that just never went away. I would have put money on it I was going through an exorcism the way my eyes were bugging out of my head and I turned pale white. Blood pressure went up to 147. The nurse kept saying 'breathe' and 'don't push'- I could not help it, she was right there. I didn't really even push, my water broke and she slid down the slide into the world just like that. PAINFUL beyond belief! It's now 4:00. What the heck just happened!? I was in total shock, thinking, we haven't even been here 15 min. yet and I am done. My doctor came in out of breath since he was on call about 4:15. I was a bit disappointed I missed him, it's not often your actual doctor can deliver the baby. We are all doing well. I came home Monday late afternoon. Peyton's been pretty good with her, adjusting nicely. We've been giving her gifts "from Ashley aka 'Ash-y'" so Peyton is getting spoiled a bit. The first night home was great, she woke up at 2 and 5 only. Yep, that was good for that night only. She is a great baby though- really only cries when she's had a bath, otherwise it's little shouts, but no fully blown cries yet- thankfully.
That will change I know!
Thank you to my visitors and family for all of their well wishes and help with Peyton.
