Our trip to the ER

We got home from a nice dinner with Kirk's parents and I got Peyton settled with a snack, Kirk was measuring out some medicine for Peyton- she has a cough- and I notice Ashley's hands flailing.. I hadn't taken her out of the car seat yet, but it was right by me. I look at her and her eyes are BUGGED out of her head, her eyes are watering and there's vomit coming out of her nose and she is completely frozen, trying to breathe- insert SCARED here. I picked her up and slapped her on the back, Kirk put his finger in her mouth to unclench her jaw- since her nose was plugged with vomit, she froze in distress and didn't "know" to breathe out of her mouth. Once she got a breath, I suctioned out her nose with the blue thingy you get at the hospital- aspirator maybe ??. She was pale and drooly and was having a hard time taking a full breath, she had audible labored breathing. PANIC/WORRY inserts here. Being it's night time, I am not wanting to put her to bed when she's not doing very well and since Peyton was still awake, we went to the ER. She's 9.5 lbs already! She had an X-ray to see if there was any visible fluid in her lungs- nothing, and tested her for RSV- a respiratory infection- negative. An hour goes by- finally gets her coloring back- thankfully- and is breathing much better and falls asleep on me. They sent us home thinking she maybe had acid reflux, or possibly needing surgery if she had an inflamed intestine- OMG, don't tell me my baby needs surgery! We saw her pediatrician this morning and he really didn't think it was that. Said she eventually would have probably cleared the vomit on her own, but nonetheless, gave us quite a scare, and more than likely, no acid reflux etiher. She is doing fine and we managed to sleep last night. I wrapped her up and had her sleep, facing up, on me to watch her. I was a little paranoid leaving her in bed alone. She slept on me until 5am, so we both got some rest. Whew, Ashley, don't ever do that again!
Oh, and Amy Hunter was working last night, so got to see her briefly.

How frightening! I'm so glad Ashley is ok.
