The Liz Logelin Foundation 5k Run

No new parent or new baby should have to go through what he's endured, it's sad and heartwarming all at the same time. He was on Oprah for Amazing Fathers last Spring if you remember him.

Matt -my brother- and I arrived around 9am and it wasn't too busy at the registration booth so I introduced myself to Matt and told him I enjoyed following his day to day life with Maddy, his 18 month old daughter, who was there after the run and is SOOO CUTE! He mentioned he is in the process of writing a book- that he was late on 2 deadlines, that he had a couple too many beers the night before, that he was looking forward to the Gala the following night at the Calhoun Beach Club- a very personable guy. I thanked him for arranging the run and that I was happy to be apart of this Foundation's fundraiser.

My first time every running around Lake Calhoun, it was about 65 and sunny, a nice level path. Matt ran right with me, which was probably the reason for shaving 3 minutes off of my time! HOLY CRAP! 32 minutes! I have one more scheduled 5k on 10-10-09 and hopefully I can keep this time, if not improve it even more. I told Matt he is now required to run with me to keep me hustling! It was just an awesome morning- the weather, the run especially, and just hanging out with Matt.
